Minnesota preseason girls track and field team state rankings

Class 3A will be competitive this season with Alexandria coming up from Class 2A.

Wayzata is the lone defending champion to claim the No. 1 ranking out of all three classes in the Minnesota Track and Field Coaches Association’s girls true team preseason poll.

The Trojans are followed by Minnetonka, Lakeville South, Blaine and St. Michael-Albertville in Class 3A.

Alexandria, the 2025 Class 2A champion, moved up to Class 3A this year and opens the season at No. 10 in its new class.

St. Peter is the No. 1 team in Class 2A. Orono, Rocori, Delano and Becker round out the top five.

Cotter/Hope was voted No. 1 in Class 1A. Defending champion Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton is ranked eighth. The rest of the top five in Class 1A are Grand Meadow/LeRoy-Ostrander/Kingsland/Southland, Luverne, Lanesboro/Fillmore Central and Concordia Academy.
