The Minnesota Track and Field Coaches Association’s boys true team preseason poll does not reflect last season’s state meet finishes in any of the three classes.

The only defending champion voted near the top of its respective class is Becker, which won the Class 2A title in 2025. The Bulldogs are ranked third in the preseason poll, behind No. 1 Belle Plaine and No. 2 Stewartville. Orono and Fairmont round out the top five.

Rosemount is No. 1 in Class 3A, followed by Blaine, Stillwater, Wayzata and Mounds View. Missing from the top 10 rankings is defending champion Hastings.

Defending Class 1A champion Redwood Valley begins the season No. 9. Holdingford received the most votes, followed by Osakis, Cotter/Hope, St. Charles and Concordia Academy.
