OK, there are far more than 15 amazing high school boys hockey players in Minnesota. Three lists like this could be done without mentioning the same player twice.
However, we have to have a cutoff. Here are the 15 players selected for the Strib Varsity 2025-26 Dream Team.
Lincoln Ayers Assad
Holy Angels • center • senior
Ayers Assad has lightning in his skates and is not afraid to take the body.
Tyden Bergeson
Moorhead • forward • senior
A gritty 200-foot player who never gets outworked, Bergeson produced stats of 25-26—51 in 2024-25.
Cole Braunshausen
St. Thomas Academy • forward • senior
A natural scorer who always seems to find the net, Braunshausen produced six goals and 11 points in his first two games of the season.
Cole Bumgarner
Rogers • forward • senior
Great ice vision, instincts and deft puck skills will be showcased in his return from a season in the USHL.

A big, physical presence (6-foot-4, 215 pounds), Hardacre is skilled enough to join the rush when needed and is active with his stick.
Chaz Lentz
Hill-Murray • forward • senior
A three-year varsity vet, he’s the Pioneers’ most versatile player and their heart and soul.
Sam Peckham
Edina • defense • senior
Committed to Cornell, he’s a smooth-skating righthanded shooter who will be counted on in a leadership role for the Hornets.
Griffin Sturm
St. Cloud Cathedral • defense • senior
On the Reed Larson Award watch list, Sturm is an agile skater with a high hockey IQ who is always in the right place.
Tate Swanson
Hibbing/Chisholm • forward • senior
Swanson is a heady playmaker with a knack for producing in key moments.
Zac Zimmerman
Moorhead • forward • junior
A high-end talent, Zimmerman returned to the Spuds after initially leaving for juniors.
