How the Minnesota Top 25 fared in Week 2 high school football

Three of the top 10 teams lost Friday night, but two fell to other top-10 teams, and all lost to ranked teams.

1. Maple Grove (2-0): defeated No. 8 Eden Prairie 28-14 at Maple Grove. Kaden Harney accounted for three touchdowns for the Crimson, passing for one and running for two.

2. Minnetonka (2-0): defeated St. Michael-Albertville 40-7 at St. Michael-Albertville. Caleb Francois rushed for four touchdowns.

3. Shakopee (2-0): defeated No. 9 Lakeville South at Shakopee, winning despite losing three fumbles in the first half.

4. Edina (2-0): defeated Wayzata 40-14 at Edina. Chase Bjorgaard rushed for three TDs, and Mason West rushed for two and passed for one.

5. Forest Lake (2-0): defeated Anoka 31-20 at Anoka.

6. Moorhead (2-0): defeated Woodbury 34-27 at Woodbury. Taye Reich scored three TDs, two runs and a catch, and Jett Feeney passed for three TDs.

7. Andover (1-1): lost 28-24 to No. 13 Champlin Park at Andover, giving up a 14-point lead.

8. Eden Prairie (1-1): lost 28-14 at No. 1 Maple Grove. The Eagles were tied 7-7 at the half, but couldn’t contend with Maple Grove’s Kaden Harney.

9. Lakeville South (1-1): lost to No. 3 Shakopee 16-12 at Shakopee.

10. Elk River (5A, 2-0): defeated Sauk Rapids-Rice 60-20 at Elk River. Carsyn Kleffman threw a touchdown pass, caught one and scored on three runs for the Elks.

11. Chanhassen (5A, 2-0): defeated Burnsville 65-0 at Chanhassen

12. Blaine (1-1): lost to Rogers 20-0 at Rogers.

13. Champlin Park (2-0): defeated No. 7 Andover 28-24 at Andover.

14. Orono (4A, 1-1): lost to Byron 32-13 at Byron. The Bears got four touchdowns from Carson Heimer.

15. Centennial (2-0): defeated Osseo 49-14 at Centennial The Cougars scored seven rushing TDs. Isaac Belinske-Strauss and Calvin Coppersmith each scored two.

16. Mankato East (5A, 2-0): defeated Rochester John Marshall 48-26 at Mankato East.

17. St. Thomas Academy (5A, 2-0): defeated Rochester Mayo 17-12 at Mayo. Dominic Baez carried 35 times for 114 yards and a touchdown.

18. Prior Lake (1-1): defeated Eagan 35-17 at Prior Lake.

19. Stillwater (1-1): defeated Park of Cottage Grove 50-9 at Park. Jack Runk passed for four touchdowns, three to Carter Zollar.

20. Rocori (4A, 1-1): lost to Marshall 28-0 at Rocori.

21. Mahtomedi (5A, 2-0): defeated St. Paul Highland Park 47-7 at Mahtomedi.

22. Jackson County Central (2A, 2-0): defeated Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial 53-21 at Jackson County Central.

23. Mankato West (5A, 1-1): defeated Owatonna 35-7 at Mankato West.

24. Hermantown (4A, 2-0): defeated Proctor 93-0 at Hermantown. Martin Sleen had five rushing touchdowns in the first half.

25. Minneota (1A, 2-0): defeated Eden Valley-Watkins 37-30 at Minneota. The Vikings’ winning streak reaches 35 games.
