Minnesota high school girls basketball state poll: Week 6

In Class 3A, Orono, Hill-Murray and Cretin-Derham Hall each climbed in the coaches poll.

The top two teams in each class remained almost the same in the Minnesota Girls Basketball Coaches Association poll released Dec. 21.

In Class 3A, Marshall dropped from No. 2 to No. 5. The beneficiaries of Marshall’s drop were Orono, Hill-Murray and Cretin-Derham Hall, which climbed one spot each to No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4, respectively.

The only other teams to move two spots or more in the polls were Rochester Mayo and Wayzata in Class 4A and Caledonia and New London-Spicer in Class AA.

Rochester Mayo jumped from seventh to fifth while Wayzata dropped from fifth into a tie for seventh with Elk River. Caledonia and New London-Spicer swapped spots into fourth and sixth

Four teams joined the top 10 this week. Forest Lake entered the 4A poll at No. 10, Richfield entered the 3A poll at No. 10, Fairmont entered the 2A poll at No. 9 and Maranatha Christian Academy tied for No. 10 in 2A.
