Prep Baseball Minnesota

Baseball Day Minnesota has become a staple on the spring calendar, and Year 3 feels like it’s hitting another gear. Delano’s Municipal Baseball Park gets the stage Saturday, May 9, with a loaded eight-team field that includes five programs currently sitting inside the Strib Varsity/Prep Baseball Minnesota Top 25.

If you’re making the trip, you’re getting a look at some of the state’s most impactful talent in one place. (If you can’t get out to Delano, all four games are being streamed exclusively on Strib Varsity.)

Connor Finn

Mahtomedi senior

Finn has major league draft buzz after a strong showing at the Prep Baseball Super 60 Pro Showcase, where he led all lefties and ran his fastball up to 94.7 mph. The Texas Tech commit won’t be on the mound this weekend because of his in-season schedule, but the bat plays. He’s a middle-of-the-order presence with strength and power that shows up in-game.

Watch No. 5 Mahtomedi vs. No. 24 Delano at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 9.

Owen Wilczek

Big Lake senior

At 6-foot-6, Wilczek, a Cincinnati commit, is turning his projected potential into production, punching out 27 batters over his last 17 innings with just four walks. There’s energy here, there’s edge, and the stuff continues to trend.

Watch No. 19 Big Lake vs. No. 18 Monticello at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 9.

Tyson Moore

Buffalo junior

The top-ranked player in the 2027 class looks the part. Moore is a high-motor catcher with offensive impact, batting .344 with a .500 on-base percentage, a .688 slugging percentage and seven extra-base hits through May 5. His athletic traits translate, too. With a 6.75-second 60-yard dash and real juice in the bat, the Minnesota commit continues to separate.

Watch Buffalo vs. Hopkins at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 9.

Brody Geislinger

Delano senior

A top 20 player in the state who continues to tick up, Geislinger is hitting .400 while also carrying a 2.03 ERA across 20⅔ innings. The Iowa Central commit has two-way value and a competitive streak that shows up every time out.

Chaz Brookins

Orono senior

Brookins is a physical presence at 6-4 and 240 pounds, and he’s producing like it. Through May 5, he has a .533 batting average, a .625 on-base percentage, a .842 slugging percentage, nine extra-base hits and 17 RBI, while also logging meaningful innings on the mound. The Gustavus Adolphus commit has impact on both sides.

Watch Chanhassen vs. No. 10 Orono at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 9.

Others to know

Frank Mausser (Hopkins senior, Iowa Central)

Max Lerner (Hopkins junior, uncommitted)

Aiden Marconett (Buffalo senior, Sioux Falls)

Charlie Johnson (Chanhassen senior, Iowa Central)

Carson Deibele (Monticello junior, uncommitted)

It’s a deep group, and it’s all in one place. Saturday should deliver.
