Along with Tartan and Wayzata swapping the top two spots, Buffalo jumped up from No. 7 to No. 5.

Alexandria and Dawson-Boyd, teams that won state championships last season, remain in the state polls, but are not ranked high.

In Class 3A, a loss by the previous No. 1 catapulted undefeated Richfield into the No. 1 spot by the Minnesota Boys Basketball Coaches Association
Several schools entered the boys basketball statewide coaches poll. There’s also a new No. 1 in Class 2A.
In the largest-schools classification, both Eagan and Hopkins moved more than two spots in Class 4A.
Half of the teams placed in the top 10 of this week’s ranking have already lost one game through mid December.
Meanwhile, Eden Prairie and Lakeville South join the Class 4A ranking at No. 9 and No. 10.
Defending state champion and No. 1 Wayzata will get its first true test of the season Saturday night against No. 5 Cretin-Derham Hall.
