With one loss, Rochester Mayo steadily moved up in the Minnesota Girls Basketball Head Coaches Association poll.
Class 3A had the most newcomers to the list with Delano and Fergus Falls joining the top 10 at No. 9 and No. 10.
Wayzata, the top-ranked team in the state among all classifications, ranks No. 1 in Class 4A. Totino-Grace is ranked No. 1 in Class 3A.
The most notable dips came in Class 2A, but other teams dropped, or moved up, in 4A, 3A and 1A as well.
Byron was only other team to move up more than one spot, climbing from No. 10 to No. 8 in Class 3A.
The No. 1 programs held their ground, but not much else stayed the same as in the preseason.
Class 1A newcomer MIB had lost just one game this season. Braham looked to change that when it hosted the Rangers on Thursday in a game streamed live on Strib Varsity.
Defending champs Maple Grove, Jackson County Central and Minneota rank No. 1 in respective classifications.
The Minnesota State High School League rescheduled Tuesday’s quarterfinals and planned to play semifinals Wednesday as well.
Jim Paulsen forecasts which teams will advance to the semifinals and championship games, including the four eventual tournament winners.
