Gophers recruit Elena Hoecke’s Centennial team slipped out of the top 10 in the latest rankings and tried to make a case for its return in Tuesday night’s game.

Lakeville North replaces rival Lakeville South at No. 1 in Class 4A; Marshall (3A), Hawley (2A) and Minneota (1A) hold steady in the coaches poll released Sept. 7.

Lakeville South (Class 4A), Marshall (3A), Hawley (2A) and Minneota (1A), No. 1 in the preseason, retained the top spots in the rankings released by the Minnesota Volleyball Coaches Association on Aug. 31.

Roseville’s Jayda Wilson hopes to defend her Class 3A pole vault state title. Her 13-1 vault is tied for 16th in the nation.

Jayda Wilson won three events at her True Team section meet, running her season total to 13 championships.
