For the second year in a row, St. Michael-Albertville begins the season ranked No. 1 in Minnesota.
Maddie Gullickson and her Trojans teammates swept Class 3A, St. Peter’s Keira Friedrich won the 2A race and St. John’s Prep’s Margaret Duffy took the 1A title.
Both of Wayzata’s teams are ranked No. 1 in Class 3A heading into perhaps the last day of championship races at Les Bolstad Golf Course.
Three fresh teams — Mounds View, Chaska and Minnetonka — joined the Class 3A rankings.
Two Rivers made the biggest new mark in the team rankings, entering the Class 3A top 10 at No. 6.
As section tournaments fired up, movement in the top 10 of the three classes was slight.

Individual runners shook up the rankings, but the teams held their spots.
The arrival of Perham’s Matt Jorgenson in the Class 2A individual rankings stands as the lone development.
