The Menahga Braves are in the top 10 for the first time this season, entering the Class 2A poll at No. 10.
The Trojans, winners of four straight games, were previously No. 3 in the top 10 poll.
Benilde-St. Margaret’s dropped from No. 2 to No. 4 in 3A, which benefitted Hill-Murray.
Meanwhile, several teams entered the coaches poll this week. They were DeLaSalle, Foley, Caledonia, Pine River-Backus and Hills-Beaver Creek.
Undefeated Skippers overtake Hopkins as the top-voted team in the largest-school classification.
Of the four classifications, Class 2A had the most movement with four teams moving two spots or more in the coaches poll.
With one loss, Rochester Mayo steadily moved up in the Minnesota Girls Basketball Head Coaches Association poll.
The most notable dips came in Class 2A, but other teams dropped, or moved up, in 4A, 3A and 1A as well.
Byron was only other team to move up more than one spot, climbing from No. 10 to No. 8 in Class 3A.
Hopkins, Benilde-St. Margaret’s and Providence Academy begin the 2025 season as the top teams in 4A, 3A and 2A according to the Minnesota Girls Basketball Coaches Association.
Star guards Maddyn Greenway and Chloe Johnson will face off for the 2A crown on Saturday, while Mountain Iron-Buhl and Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s will square off in 1A.
