In the toughest sections, there are top players poised to make a big difference. We’re featuring 10 today:
Section tournament preview: breaking down the big showdowns and making predictions for the state tournament field.
Here’s how Minnesota’s best teams rank with section tournaments underway across the state.
This week, East Ridge dropped to No. 10 and Rosemount fell to No. 6 in Class 4A while previously unranked Chanhassen moved into the poll at No. 7.
Chanhassen is the week’s biggest climber after wins against two ranked opponents.
The higher-ranked team won in each of this week’s six matchups between teams ranked in the Minnesota Top 25.
The Menahga Braves are in the top 10 for the first time this season, entering the Class 2A poll at No. 10.
The Trojans are on an impressive winning streak, but their journey through a stacked Lake Conference is far from over.
Many of these players will suit up for Division I and II colleges like Bemidji State, South Dakota State, South Dakota and Minnesota State Mankato.
The Trojans, winners of four straight games, were previously No. 3 in the top 10 poll.
Hopkins, the defending Class 4A state champions, have the chance to claim back-to-back titles for the first time since winning three straight from 2011-13.
