St. Thomas Academy, Mahtomedi, Hill-Murray, Benilde-St. Margaret’s, Minneapolis North and Elk River are among teams that advanced to section championships.

The teams in Strib Varsity’s statewide ranking went 25-for-25 on the playoff weekend.

Media members from across the state spent weeks refining the top 10s. As the playoffs begin, here is their last batch of the season.

Moorhead and Woodbury entered the rankings, and Rosemount kept rising in the top five.

The Cadets, No. 1 in the class, handed the Zephyrs their first loss and finished the regular season undefeated for the first time since 2022.

The ranked teams lost mostly to each other, but Edina (loser to Moorhead) and Cretin-Derham Hall (loser to Elk River) were spectacular exceptions.

Minnetonka plays at Maple Grove in a rematch of the 2024 title game, and Lakeville South travels to Rosemount for a game pitting top-five teams.

Ahead of the final games of the regular season, Centennial and Lakeville South moved into the upper echelon in Class 6A.

As the regular season nears its Wednesday end, a few unforeseen upsets and close games Friday jumbled Jim Paulsen’s list.

Losses by No. 2 Minnetonka and No. 3 Forest Lake left Class 6A with a single undefeated team, Maple Grove.
